Lynden Stone artist

I am a multi-disciplinary artist currently working in painting, ceramics and interactive installations. I am also an arts educator and researcher. I am based in Naarm, Melbourne, located in the Dandenong Ranges, in the outer east of Melbourne. Prior to that I was in Northern NSW and Brisbane.

I have pursued many themes in my works over the years from: commentary on social media; the weirdness of quantum mechanics; the idea that consciousness may the primary force; the multi-media project "Sacred Gaia Healing" - an hilarious parody on exploitative capitalism in the New Age industry; and "The Artist's Collection" - real and imagined objects collected by me.

In 2024, I returned to the themes that I researched in my PhD thesis: “Doubting Conventional Reality: Visual Art and Quantum Mechanics.” I am painting works and also making collaborative, interactive installations with a Professor of Quantum Mechanics and with my brother, a programmer. I’m working towards an exhibition in 2025 with Tacit Gallery in Abbotsford, Melbourne.

I have taught painting, drawing, creative practice, copyright for artists and art history at various tertiary educations including: the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, Brisbane, QUT, South Bank TAFE Brisbane and TAFE NSW Murwillumbah.
